Jade TeamWorks LLC ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our application, OpenGuard App, handles your information.

1. Data Collection and Usage

OpenGuard is designed with privacy as a core principle. We minimize data collection to what is strictly necessary for the application's functionality.

1.1 URL Analysis Data

When you click a link or manually enter a URL for analysis:

  • Local Analysis: Performed entirely on your device. No data leaves your computer.
  • Google Web Risk Analysis: To check for known threats, we may send hashed or partial URL information to Google's Web Risk API. This process is designed to preserve privacy (using k-anonymity principles) and does not reveal the full URL or your identity to Google.
  • AI Intent Analysis: If enabled, the full URL and its metadata may be sent to our AI service providers for intent analysis. This data is used solely for the purpose of generating a security report and is not stored permanently or used to train public models.

1.2 User Data

We do not collect personal data such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers.

  • No user login or registration is required to use the core features.
  • All analysis history and logs are stored locally on your device and can be cleared by you at any time.

2. Third-Party Services

To provide comprehensive security analysis, OpenGuard integrates with trusted third-party services:

  • Google Web Risk: Used for checking URLs against known threat databases. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for more details.
  • AI Service Providers: Used for advanced intent analysis. We ensure our providers adhere to strict data privacy standards.

3. Data Storage

  • Local Storage: Your browsing history (within OpenGuard), security reports, and settings are stored locally on your Mac.
  • External Servers: We do not store your browsing history or personal data on our servers. Transient data sent for analysis is processed and immediately discarded or returned as a report.

4. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page or within the application.
