Welcome to the terms of use provided by Jade TeamWorks LLC ("we", "our", or "us"). These Terms govern your use of our application, AcroLens.
1. Nature of Service
AcroLens is a reading assistance tool designed to help users understand acronyms and short technical terms in context. It provides:
- Context-aware acronym lookup.
- AI-generated acronym explanations.
- Local lookup history.
- Saved Terms for useful explanations.
- A Safari Web Extension for selected text lookup on webpages.
AcroLens is intended to support reading comprehension. It is not a professional advice, compliance, legal, medical, financial, security, or safety decision-making tool.
2. AI Explanation Disclaimer
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
The explanations provided by AcroLens, including acronym expansions, definitions, domains, and related AI-generated content, are for informational purposes only.
- No Guarantee of Accuracy: AcroLens may return incomplete, outdated, ambiguous, or incorrect explanations.
- Context May Be Misread: Acronyms can have different meanings across industries, documents, and communities. AI models may misinterpret the surrounding context.
- User Responsibility: You are responsible for evaluating whether an explanation is appropriate for your situation.
- No Professional Advice: AcroLens output should not be treated as legal, medical, financial, compliance, engineering safety, or other professional advice.
3. Browser Extension Use
The AcroLens Safari Web Extension helps you look up selected acronym-like text on webpages. You agree to use the extension only on content you are permitted to access and process.
You should not use AcroLens to process confidential, regulated, or highly sensitive information unless you understand and accept that limited selected text and surrounding context may be sent to the AcroLens backend for lookup.
4. Local Data and Saved Terms
AcroLens may store lookup history, Saved Terms, explanations, and settings locally on your device. You are responsible for managing local access to your device and any local backups that may include AcroLens data.
Saved Terms and history are provided for convenience and may not be complete records of your reading activity or prior lookups.
5. Backend and Third-Party Services
AcroLens may use backend infrastructure and AI model providers to process acronym lookup requests. These services are used to provide contextual explanations, reliability features, rate limits, caching, and related functionality.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue backend-powered features at any time, including for maintenance, security, capacity, or product reasons.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse AcroLens or attempt to interfere with its operation. You may not:
- Reverse engineer, extract, or misuse backend authentication mechanisms.
- Use automated requests or scraping to overload the service.
- Attempt to access non-public systems, credentials, or data.
- Use AcroLens in a way that violates applicable law or third-party rights.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
AcroLens is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that AcroLens will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or able to identify the correct meaning of every acronym.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AcroLens and its developers are not liable for indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages.
This includes damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses arising out of or relating to use of, or inability to use, AcroLens.
